Sicame Group, through its subsidiary Sicame India, signed a memorandum of understanding on 11 November with the Automotive Skills Development Council.
This partnership, which aims to provide training and certification in safety and electric vehicles across India, is the first of its kind in the country. The ASDC provides the Group with recognised standards to enable technicians to acquire the necessary skills, a key challenge at a time when the Indian electric vehicle market is booming.
The teams at Sicame India have collaborated with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to create a certification programme that ensures worker safety, in order to bridge the gap between the expansion of the electric vehicle market and the necessary skills.
The training programme is scheduled to launch in spring 2026 in major Indian cities, particularly at OEM manufacturing sites. Ultimately, the training will be extended to broader sectors, such as buses and electrical infrastructure.
Through this partnership, Sicame Group is helping to support the transition to clean mobility in India, with the aim of making electrical certification a mandatory requirement for working with electric vehicles.
