Sicame India, the Indian subsidiary of Sicame Group, simultaneously enters the renewable energy and OEM product markets as a supplier to US solar panel specialist First Solar. This large-scale project demonstrates the ability of our teams to adapt and evolve to meet new challenges.

The project began with a First Solar photovoltaic module, which enabled Sicame India to enter the solar energy market at the beginning of 2022. Following the project's success, Sicame India wanted to consolidate its relationship with First Solar. At the time, the American company was building a new production site in Chennai, just 50 km from the Indian subsidiary's factory!

At the end of 2022, Sicame India was appointed as First Solar's sole supplier in India for the junction boxes that connect the photovoltaic panels together. In just eight months, the team reorganized the factory to create a 400 m2 space dedicated to this project, outsourced the finished goods warehouse, improved laboratory testing and invested in seven new precision injection molding machines.

On February 14, Sicame India inaugurated its brand-new production line and an assembly line dedicated to the First Solar project. The first junction boxes for the Indian market are scheduled for May 2024, and the Group has signed a contract to supply the same product to First Solar in the United States from 2025.
