Power Line Sentry committed to biodiversity in Brazil
04.18.2024
In 2014, a group of researchers noted an increase in the mortality of the birds, which were seriously threatened with extinction and were being killed at an alarming rate during their breeding and nesting season due to a power line on their way to the sea.
Scarecrows from Power Line Sentry, a Denver-based American subsidiary of Sicame Group, have been installed on power lines near Ganlinhos, Brazil, to reduce the death toll of roseate terns.
Thanks to a study launched by researchers to test the effectiveness of the installation, the number of deaths has fallen significantly.
This success is the fruit of international collaboration between public bodies and Power Line Sentry, in the service of biodiversity.
