"Gateway South” project: a key alliance between PacifiCorp and Sicame Group

Electricity company PacifiCorp has approached Sicame Group for its "Gateway South" project: a 400-mile (approx. 643 km) renovation and development project for power lines linking the U.S. states of Utah and Wyoming.

"Thanks to the Biden project, which aims to revitalize the electrical infrastructure, the United States represents a strategic market offering numerous opportunities," explains Gregory Flynn, Director of Sicame Group's Transmission and Distribution divisions. Following the example of PacifiCorp's "Gateway South" project, the number of renovation and new construction projects, particularly involving renewable energies, has multiplied.

PacifiCorp's contractor, Qanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG), chose Sicame Group solutions because it was able to offer a complete range of accessories for high-voltage lines, as well as the experience and references of Salvi, and the strong industrial capacity of Dervaux, two Sicame Group subsidiaries.

The main challenge for 2022 is to ensure deliveries despite the impact of the Ukrainian crisis. Not to mention the complexity of the project, which involves more than 20 different assembly configurations. "To bring this major project to fruition, several entities are pooling their skills to make 'Gateway South' a decisive step that will enable Sicame Group to strengthen its presence on the North American market".
